Church support members financially

Kumasi, July 24, GNA - The Amakom Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Kumasi at the weekend disbursed 12 million cedis to 30 needy members of the church, to enable them to undertake economic activities to improve their standard of living.

The money was raised by the Holy Matrimony Society of the Church at a fund raising during its anniversary celebration recently. The Very Reverend Father Philip Opoku-Nyame, the Parish Priest, presented the money to the beneficiaries, who received 400,000 cedis each.

He said the gesture formed part of the Church's social responsibility towards its needy members and asked them to use the money judiciously.

Mr Anthony Fordjour, Welfare Officer of the group, called on the privileged in society to share their wealth with the poor and needy people so that they could be able to cope up with the difficult economic situation.
