Keta (V/R), May 14, GNA - Cinema Vans of the Information Services Department (ISD) now available at only the Headquarters and the regional offices are to be redistributed to the department's district offices. Mr Mark Woyongo, Deputy Director of the ISD in-charge of Administration and Finance, announced this on Friday when he paid a courtesy call on Mr Hope Howusu, Keta District Coordinating Director (DCD), while on inspection tour of ISD offices and facilities in the district.
He said a few new cinema vans were being acquired while a number of broken down ones have been overhauled to beef up the current fleet. Mr Woyongo said the new measure, going along with the re-equipping of all ISD offices and the posting of qualified staff to District Offices would put a new lease of life into the Service. He said as part of a "face lift" of the Service, all the Regional and District Offices would be provided with fax machines and telephone facilities to make transmission of reports and messages fast.
Mr Woyongo said the Service was being given a "pride place" to ensure that dissemination of government policies and programmes to the populace, as well as feed back from the people to government was prompt. Mr Howusu said re-equipping the ISD would boost the morale of the workers to deliver and asked that one cinema van be given to the Keta District.
Mr Woyongo was accompanied Mr Chris Dogbe, Deputy Director, Budget and Planning, Mr Victor Katahena, Chief Records Supervisor and Mr Bennet Dzogbelu, Acting Volta Regional Information Officer.
