Gomoa-Kyiren (C/R), June 18, GNA- Inhabitants of a number of farming communities in Gomoa and the Awutu-Effutu-Senya districts at the weekend, made a passionate appeal to the Government to rehabilitate roads linking their communities and urban towns.

The communities include, Gomoa-Sampa, Gomoa-Asempanyin, Gomoa-Ohua, Gomoa- Panfokrom, Gomoa-Ayensuadze, Effutu-Attekyedo, Effutu-Atteitu, Gyahadze, Essuekyir, Osubonmpanyin, Awutu-Bontrase, Awutu-Mampong, Bewuanum and Awutu-Samsamso.

The appealed followed a survey conducted by the Ghana News Agency a week ago.

Speaking to a GNA correspondent at Gomoa-Kyiren on the deplorable nature of some road network in the Gomoa-West Constituency, a spokesman for the farmers in the affected areas said the poor condition of the roads was hampering their agricultural activities.

The spokesman said because the contractor who worked on the Kyiren-Nkwanta-Gomoa Brofo road did not give the project a second cote, the road had started developing dangerous potholes. The spokesman appealed to the Minister of Road Transport to ensure that the contractor did the right thing to avoid waste.
