Coconut Grove Beach Resort, a member of Groupe Nduom companies in Elmina has donated an amount of GH?5,000 to the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipal Assembly to support in the celebration of this year’s Farmers’ Day which is slated for Friday, December 5.
Presenting the money to the Assembly at Elmina last Monday, General Manager (GM) of Coconut Grove Beach Resort, Victor Opoku Minta, who was accompanied by his Human Resource Manager, Mr. Hnel Appleton, and the Food and Beverage Manager, Mr. Shiham Ghouse, explained that the donation formed part of the hotel’s 20th anniversary celebration.
“In marking our 20th Anniversary, we decided to extend a helping hand to farmers by supporting them in their business,” Mr. Minta said.
According to him, Coconut Grove Beach Resort is an indigenous hospitality entity that recognises the hard work of local farmers and fishermen hence the gesture.
“Coconut Grove Beach Resort has been very reliant on our local farmers and fishermen who have been helping us to feed our clients over the past years, and we say ayekoo to them as they are being celebrated throughout the nation,” he stated.
Mr. Opoku Minta went on to commend all Ghanaian farmers, saying “we appreciate the hard work you are doing to feed the nation and we at Coconut Grove look forward to a fruitful working relationship with you.”
For his part, KEEA Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji IssahMusah, who received the money, thanked Groupe Nduom for the donation and also congratulated Coconut Grove for their successful operation over the past 20 years.
He underscored the important role farmers and fishermen play in keeping the economy moving, adding that the donation will go a long way to put smiles on their faces.
