Sekondi, Nov.25, GNA - The Western Region Branch of the Commercial Art and Sign Writers Association on Thursday donated quantities of educative banners worth more than 2.5 Million Cedis to the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly (SAEMA) at a ceremony at Sekondi.
They carry messages on political tolerance and environmental cleanliness some of which read, "we want clean political campaign", "Western Region needs violence-free elections and "keep our environment clean always".
Mr. William Akuffo, Financial Secretary of the association, presenting the banners said the gifts were members' contribution towards the efforts to ensure peaceful elections and environmental sanitation in the Metropolis.
Mr. Philip Kwesi Nkrumah, Metropolitan Chief Executive who received the gifts expressed the Assembly's gratitude to the association and said they would help to encourage the public to know their rights and responsibilities.
He stressed that it is the responsibility of every Ghanaian to pray and work hard for peaceful and successful elections on December 7. Mr. Nkrumah said SAEMA would welcome similar assistance from other associations and institutions to enhance its operations. Nov. 25 04
