Communities construct police stations

Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 5, GNA - Superintendent of Police D.O. Lomotey, the Nkoranza District Police Commander, has commended six communities in the district for constructing police stations to enhance security. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza, the police commander mentioned Dromankese, Bredi Number 0ne, Nkwabeng, Akuma, Yefri and Busunya as the communities.

He said lack of accommodation was a major challenge that faced police personnel and appealed to the district assembly to come to assist. Mr Lomotey described the communities as "development oriented" and urged other communities to emulate them.

He urged the communities to provide facilities to make the stations merit their status and to arrange for accommodation for personnel who would be posted there.

Mr Lomotey complained about the poor state of the police post at Donkro-Nkwanta and appealed to the people to renovate it without delay. The chiefs and people of Kranka in the district are also making efforts to build a police post and accommodation in the area.
