Community denies allegation levelled against them

Agogoso (Ash), Feb. 11, GNA- The Agogoso community in the Atwima District of Ashanti have refuted allegations levelled against them by the District Chief Executive that they had threatened to assault teachers in the town.

Mr Akwasi Twumasi, assemblyman for Agogoso, who refuted the allegation on behalf of his people, said they were very much worried about the allegation.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agogoso last Friday, the assemblyman described threats and assault on teachers as uncalled for. Mr Twumasi said the people of Agogoso were law abiding and peaceful people.

The assemblyman assured teachers in the town of the support and co-operation of the community in the discharge of their duties but asked the teachers to be punctual and work hard to produce good results. Mr Charles Yeboah, the DCE in an address recently at the Atwima district assembly meeting, mentioned Agogoso, Praso and Apenemadi as some of the communities in the district who had threatened to beat up teachers.
