Complement government's efforts by initiating own projects

Worakose (Ash), March 09, GNA - Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, acting District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma, has appealed to Ghanaians to complement the government's development efforts through self-help.

He said since it was impossible for either the central government or district assemblies to satisfy all the development needs of every community in the country, it was reasonable for the people to accept to share in the burden of providing for themselves some basic facilities. Mr Addai-Mununkum was addressing a fund-raising durbar organised by the chiefs and people of Worakose in the district in aid of the completion of a community centre.

He said he was happy that people in the town were making efforts to raise their living conditions on their own.

Nana Agyei Kwame II, the Worakosehene, said the community was grateful to the assembly for providing the people with two boreholes. He announced plans to introduce an incentive package for teachers in the community to motivate them to give off their best and thereby raise the standard of education in the district. An amount of 25 million cedis was raised at the function.
