The Buwa Traditional Council in the Sissala West District has commended government for providing the people with development projects, namely, school infrastructure, electricity and water, among others.
Government is building a Senior High Technical School at Zini, the construction of a water system at Fielmuo, and the connection of all communities in the Buwa area to the national grid, except Sangbaka.
Kuoro Barcheh Nlowie Baninye the second, Acting President of the Buwa Traditional Council, made the commendation during a courtesy call on Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper West Regional Minister, to express his peoples’ gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the numerous development projects in the area
He said the Buwa Area has also benefited from Community Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) Compounds, teachers quarters and classroom projects.
“We are extremely or heavily indebted to the government for these developments. Government has really given the Buwa Area her fair share of the national cake,” Kuoro Baninye, who is also the Niator Kuoro, said.
He appealed to government to provide a number of small-scale irrigation dams for the Buwa Area, to enable farmers to undertake dry season farming, to boost their livelihoods.
Kuoro Baninye however, bemoaned the deplorable nature of roads in the area, and called for urgent attention to make them motorable to enhance the movement of people, goods and services.
He appealed to Ghanaians to support the government, irrespective of their political affiliations, to enable it carry out its development policies and programmes.
