Credit facilities for Akim Bosome Rural Bank

The Small Holder Credit Inputs Marketing Project (SCIMP) is to assist the Akim Bosome Rural Bank at Akim Swedru, with credit facilities to support post-production activities of farmers.

The Chairman of Board of Directors of the Bank, Mr Kwaku Owusu-Baah, speaking at an annual get-together at Akim Swedru on Saturday, said the Bank would also get credit facilities from the Village Infrastructure Project (VIP) to support small-scale enterprises.

Mr Owusu-Baah, who is also the Chief Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, said the Bank realised a profit of 642 million cedis last year.

He said in-service training would be organised for the staff to enhance efficiency.

The Manager of the Bank, Mr Antwi Okyere, commended the Directors for increasing the remuneration of staff to boost their morale.

He appealed to the staff to reciprocate the gesture by working harder to double the performance of the Bank to enable it declare higher dividends to the shareholders.

Mr Kwame Asiedu Ofosuhene, who was adjudged the Best Worker for last year, was later presented with a 20-inch television set.
