Nkwanta, July 14, GNA - Mr Joseph Booker Denteh, the Nkwanta District Chief Executive, has donated 15 billboards painted in the colours of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and 100 pieces of party flags worth 28.4 million cedis to the Nkwanta North and Nkwanta South constituencies. He said the items were his widow's mite towards strengthening the party in the two constituencies for Election 2008.
Mr Denteh said the party was already doing well and only needed a "little push" from its unalloyed stalwarts to retain power. Mr Denteh said the party was strategizing to annex the Nkwanta South seat in addition to the solitary Nkwanta North seat it won out of 22 constituencies in 2004 elections in the Volta Region.
Mr Francis Yaw Anane, Nkwanta North Constituency Chairman, commended Mr Denteh for his goodwill and urged others to emulate him.
He said over-reliance on the National Headquarters for everything could spell doom for them and called on all to come on board. Mr Maxwell Blagodzi, Volta Regional Youth Organizer, declared that half the battle had already been won but urged supporters to work harder and remain united to enable them face the challenges ahead. 14 July 06
