Decentralised departments advised to procure fire extinguishers

Begoro (E/R), Dec. 6, GNA- The Fanteakwa District Fire Officer, Mr Agyepong Dwemoh, has advised decentralized departments in the district to put fire precaution facilities in their premises.

Addressing nurses and para-medical staff at Begoro, as part of his inspection tour of public offices to check on fire combat readiness, he expressed concern about the absence of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in the departments.

He asked the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to ensure that Begoro Hospital was protected against fire disaster.

Meanwhile, the District School Health Education Officer, Miss Christiana Serwaa Appiah, had appealed to the Environmental Health Department to educate food vendors to prepare food under hygienic conditions.

Miss Appiah asked parents to provide their children with drinking cups to avoid contracting diseases by drinking from unhygienic cups at public places.
