Departmental heads to face sanctions for non-submission of reports

Dunkwa-On-Offin (C/R), Jan 25, GNA - Mr Richard Anane Adabor, the Upper Denkyira District Chief Executive, has said heads of departments who fail to meet the assembly's deadline in submitting reports for the effective planning of the district might be sanctioned.

"I want to caution departmental heads who are not able to meet deadlines and those who fail to submit reports when they are needed by the assembly for necessary action to be up and doing otherwise they would be sanctioned", he said.

Mr Adabor, who was addressing the assembly at its meeting at Dunkwa-On-Offin, commended some departmental heads whose invaluable contributions helped the assembly to achieve some successes last year. "I commend the invaluable efforts and services of some of the departments of the assembly which have contributed to the successes that the assembly achieved during the year".

He said the assembly would set up a district development planning committee to commence the preparation of the development plan for the district.

Mr Adabor appealed to the assembly members to co-operate with the planning committee when they visit their electoral areas. "The assembly is waiting for the guidelines to be issued by the National Development Planning Commission to facilitate preparations for the next district medium term development plan based on the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy (GPRS) Phase Two," he said.
