The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has assured the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of fixing the bridge on the River Offin.

The bridge on the River Offin is deteriorating. This was brought to light by a content creator who exposes the country’s lack of maintenance culture.

Speaking at the Akwasidae held on March 2, 2025, Dr Amoakohene informed the king that an assessment has been done on the bridge and it would have to be closed down.

He explained that users of the road will have to use another route to ensure that the bridge is fixed.

On Monday, March 3, 2025, the Minister of Roads and Highways will be in the Ashanti Region to have firsthand understanding of the issue and also inspect other road projects in the Ashanti Region.

“I will be joined by the roads minister tomorrow to assess the situation and to assess other road projects in the region,” the regional minister said in a post shared via social media.
