Obuasi (Ash), July 30, GNA - Mrs Beatrice Prempeh, Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, has called for co-operation and good rapport between all stakeholders involved in the delivery of quality education to the Ghanaian child.
"There should be good rapport and co-operation between my staff and the public, including parents, School Management Committees, the Municipal Assembly, the media and the rest to ensure quality education delivery to the child", she said.
Mrs Prempeh was addressing her maiden meeting with heads of public basic schools in the municipality at Obuasi at the weekend. The Municipal Director, who has additional responsibility for Amansie West, assured the heads of her maximum co-operation and support. "You should not entertain any fears. I am approachable and affable and so do not hesitate to bring up your problem to me for solution," she added.
She urged headteachers to work as a team and also encourage their teachers and pupils to help set a good tone in their schools to help promote academic success.
She stressed on sanitation and appealed to the heads to instil the culture of tree planting in their schools not only to beautify the compounds but also to serve as wind breaks and checks against erosion. Mrs Prempeh charged the heads to come out with a mission and a vision for their schools.
Mr Paul Raymond Kwofie, chairman of the Obuasi Conference of Heads of Public Basic Schools, called for regular interaction between the Municipal Education Office and the heads to promote mutual understanding to help sustain the academic achievement of the municipality.
