Discipline among security agencies would not be compromised-Admiral Nuno.

Sekondi, August 4,-GNA-Rear Admiral A. R. S. Nunoo, Chief of Naval Staff has said the high standards of discipline among Navy personnel would not be compromised.

He said if discipline within the security agencies break down, it could create confusion and compromise on the security of the nation. Rear Admiral Nunoo said these when he toured some military bases in the Western Region and later had interaction with Mr. Joseph B. Aidoo, the regional minister at Sekondi on Thursday. He said the navy would continue to assist the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in ensuring peace and order within the region and among the personnel.

Admiral Nunoo said the challenges of the navy were numerous and all efforts would be made to ensure that most of them were solved. Mr. Aidoo, on his part said the continual use of outmoded and less reliable equipments by the navy was a source of worry to the RCC. He said the lack of communication equipments coupled with the reliable on commercial vehicles by navy personnel, could not guarantee their safety and could compromise safety.

Mr. Aidoo appealed to the navy to continue to check the activities of smugglers at all the entry points of the country. Commodore Frank Daley, Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, accompanied Admiral Nunoo.
