Ehwiaa (Ash), Sept 11, GNA- The Kwabre District Assembly is to build 195 stores to be attached to the 300 million-cedis crafts centre it has built for the Ehwiaa Wood Carvers.
Mr Isaac Kwame Alema, the District Planning Officer, said under the first phase of the project 40 stores will be built this year. He said this when Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, inspected the crafts centre on Wednesday as part of his three-day visit to Ashanti.
Mr Alema said the stores will be constructed with HIPC funds.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey commended the District Assembly for its foresight and efforts to promote tourism in the district.
He pledged to cooperate with the district assembly, traditional rulers and the people to effectively develop and promote tourism in the area
