Don't impregnate my subjects and go on transfer - Asikuma Chief to immigration officers

Chief of Asikuma, Nana Abuko Kofi II, has expressed displeasure at how some security officers posted to communities sexually exploit female residents.

Speaking at the commissioning of an Immigration Checkpoint at Asikuma in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, the traditional ruler recounted how some communities had issues with security officers who impregnate residents and refuse to take responsibility for the Child.

He, therefore, advised immigration officers who would be stationed at the Asikuma checkpoint to reciprocate the respect and love that residents of Asikuma would exhibit towards them.

“We expect a very good rapport between the officers and the society that we have here in the community of Asikuma”, he said.

Nana Abuko Kofi II also implored the officers to do as customs and traditions demand and marry females they may have interest in, and not abscond through transfers after impregnating the females.

“... if you want to marry our people pass through the proper channels and marry them. Don’t come and impregnate them and go on transfer. That is a very important part of the duties that you are supposed to perform over here”, he stressed.

He, however, assured of the needed support to enhance the effective work delivery at the Immigration checkpoint.
