Breman Fosuansa (C/R), Jan 11, GNA - A 30-year-old driver, Mr Kwame Nyame, native of Breman Fosuansa was brutally butchered for allegedly destroying properties and causing harm to three persons.

Kobina Gyan, Kwaku Kweenu and Kwasi Asante were inflicted with cutlass wounds, whilst items destroyed included personal belongings, electrical wires, bulbs, kiosks and a windscreen.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the accused mother, Madam Esi Kakra said the son was a driver based in Accra about three years ago.

She said whenever the son visited the town, his behaviour and attitude was like a mad person.

She said in December last year, some people from Accra brought the son to her and complained that the son's behaviour was suspicious and as such some angry mob had beaten him mercilessly.

Madam Kakra said after the people had left she also left the son in the house.

According to the regent of the town, Kojo Attah and Opanyin Kojo Mensah, they were informed that the accused Kwame Nyame was in town and that he was holding two cutlasses destroying government and individual properties.

They said the Breman Asikuma police patrol team was alerted and with the help of the people of the town, Kwame Nyame was overpowered after five hours.

The accused had since been admitted at Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma under police guard, as investigations continue by the police.
