The Minister of Education is meeting executives of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana in an attempt to address their concerns.
The Polytechnic teachers last week threatened a strike if government fails to initiate processes for the payment of their book and research allowances.
POTAG gave government an ultimatum which ends today, Tuesday April 22.
Government intends scrapping the allowances and replacing them with a national research fund.
Both university and polytechnic teachers have kicked against this move.
POTAG president, James Dugrah in an interview with XYZ NEWS said this meeting is the ministry’s first attempt at finding a solution to the impasse.
The National Labor Commission last week directed the Education ministry to negotiate with University teachers before going ahead with the establishment of the National Research Fund.
