The chiefs and people of the Effutu Traditional Area will celebrate their annual Aboakyer Festival from April 25 to May 3.
The Omanhene, and President of the Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey the Seventh, made this known in a statement he signed and a copy made available to the Ghana News Agency in Winneba.
According to the statement the theme for this year’s celebration is: “Our Year of Reconciliation and Unity for Development.”
The statement indicated that a Planning Committee headed by the Apagyahen of the Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Obosu the Second, has been put in place to facilitate an enjoyable and peaceful celebration this year.
According to the statement, the climax of the festival is Saturday, May 2, when the two Asafo Companies-Dentsifo Number One and Tuafo Number Two, will go into the bush to capture a life deer.
The first animal brought to the durbar ground is normally used for traditional and customs towards the growth and peace of the traditional area.
The statement assured the people of “an exciting regatta and tug-of-war event, youth football gala, Street jams, food fair, beach party among many others as part of the celebration.
It invites all business organizations interested in sponsoring any of the events to contact the Registrar of the Traditional Council.
