Eight students of KNUST get scholarship

Kumasi, March 26, GNA - Eight students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been presented with a 16 million-cedi scholarship package by the management of Nankani and Hagan Limited, a trading company in Kumasi.

They were Manuel Gadogbe, Sampson Kobil, Kingsley Addae Baffoe, Peter Kaklaku, Owusu Brenya, Edmund Yamba Kimoan, Moses Weniamo Kamodatan and Miss Yaa Asantewaa.

The students, who are pursuing programmes in medicine, engineering, pharmacy, agriculture and physics, received two million cedis each. Dr Essel Hagan, Director of the company said at the presentation ceremony in Kumasi that, it was their contribution towards supporting brilliant but needy students who gain admission to the university. He said they first started with five students two years ago and have now raised the number of beneficiaries to eight.

Professor K.K. Adarkwa, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the KNUST, advised the students to let the financial assistance motivate them to study harder.
