Elubo Security Team Defeat their Ivorian Counterparts 5-1.

Elubo (W/R) August 16 GNA - A combined team of security agencies at Ghana's Elubo border post on Saturday defeated their counterparts from Noe in the Cote d' Ivoire border post 5-1 in the second leg friendly football match at Elubo at the weekend.

In the first leg match played at Noe a fortnight ago, the Ghanaian team lost by a lone goal.

The weekend's match was watched by a fairly large crowd who cheered and lent their support to the home team to ensure their sound victory. It was the Ivorians, who against the run of play who found the opener in the 25th minute through Claude Demeca who spearheaded his side's attacking machinery.

Five minutes from recess, K. Mustapha scored the equaliser with Ibrahim Labaran making it two three minutes later. Foster Amuzu and K. Ayitey found the net in the 70th and 75th minutes while Labaran was on target again in the 80th minute to make victory certain for the Ghanaian side.

Mr. Martin Ackah, District Chief Executive for Jomoro who was among the dignitarie commended the two teams for exhibiting good sportsmanship in the two-leg encounters and explained that the matches were organised to further promote the existing cordial relationship between the various security agencies at both sides of the border.

Mr. Osafo Marfo, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health at the Elubo border post told the GNA Sports that other sporting activities would be organised between the security personnel from both sides of the border to help strengthen their relationships. Prizes were awarded to both teams.
