Nkoranza (B/A), Oct. 23, GNA - Mr Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has urged heads of basic schools to ensure transparency in the financial management of their institutions, especially in the utilization of the capitation grants. The district director urged circuit supervisors to pay regular visits to schools to check recalcitrant school heads. Mr Agyemang-Badu said schools performance improvement plans arranged for the withdrawal of school grants from banks, needed to be endorsed by all teachers to avoid some school heads misappropriating them. He appealed to parents to take advantage of the introduction of the capitation grant and enrol their children of school going age in schools. Mr Agyemang-Badu cautioned head teachers against collecting unauthorized fees and urged teachers to lead exemplary lifestyles. He called on school management committees and parents to play their respective roles as stakeholders in education and support teachers.
