Farmers appeal for rehabilitation of road

Woraso (B/A), Oct. 5, GNA - Residents of two farming communities in the Techiman Municipality of Brong-Ahafo have appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads and the Municipal Assembly to re-gravel the seven-kilometre Bamiri-Woraso-Akrufi road to facilitate the transportation of their food products to marketing centres. Mr Kwame Boama, spokesman for the residents made the appeal at Woraso at the weekend when he led newsmen to inspect the road. He said large quantities of foodstuffs including maize, cassava, plantain and yams were locked up on the farms due to the bad nature of the road.

The spokesman explained that the deplorable state of the road had made drivers to refuse to ply.

Mr Everson Addo-Donkor, Assembly Member for Buoyem has also called on the Municipal Assembly and the Department of Feeder Roads to re-shape the nine-kilometre Buoyem-Akonkonti-Tenabia road. He said farmers at Akonkonti and Tenabia had been cut-off due to the bad condition of the road.
