Antwikrom (W/R), Oct. 13, GNA - Farmers from five cocoa growing areas in the Aowin-Suaman District have renewed their appeal to the Government to complete the 16-kilometre Susanso Camp-Mile Three road, which was started more than two years ago.
Work on the road, a European Union support project that was designed to boost the economic activities of the area, was abandoned a few months after commencement.
Mr Kwasi Aboagye, Unit Committee Chairman and spokesman told the Ghana News Agency at Antwikrom at the weekend that the bad nature of the roads had been a source of worry to the farmers, especially those from New Berekum, Afodowa, Susanso Camp, Adiepena and Antwikrom.
The completion of the road would enhance the evacuation of cash and food crops to Dadieso and other marketing centres, he said. He said work on a vital bridge over River Susan had also been abandoned and added that the completion of these projects would alleviate some of the hardships facing the communities. 13 Oct. 03
