Fire guts Kotoko coach’s house

Deputy Asante Kotoko trainer, Michael Osei, has lost his six-bedroom house to an inferno.

He said the fire started on Wednesday evening when he was not in the house, situated at Kwamo before Jarchie Junction in Kumasi.

Coach Osei noted that his old mother was in the house when the fire started, but luckily the woman was saved by people in the vicinity.

He lamented that everything in the house was consumed by the blaze which traveled at top speed.

He suspected that unreliable power supply, known in local parlance as ‘Dumso’ caused the fire.

The Kotoko coach noted that power supply in the area was cut and when it was being restored, the fire started.

Meanwhile Defending League Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been hit with injury problems, with Michael Osei expressing worry over the development in a chat on Boss Fm.

He mentioned Larbi Coomson, Kojo Poku and Michael Akuffo, as some of the first team Kotoko players on the injury list.

He said the injury problems affected the Porcupine Warriors when they played an international friendly with Togolese side, Semasie.

“About five of our players are on the injury list,” Michael Osei, who was a Kotoko player in his hey days said.

The coach disclosed that almost all the Kotoko holding midfielders were on the injury list when they played Semasie.

He however stated that with the exception of Larbi Coomson, all the injuries in camp were minor and could be treated easily.

Michael Osei prayed to God to protect the Kotoko players from injury as they prepare for the league and Africa.
