Fire ravages property in four Bosomtwe communities

Kuntanase (Ash), Jan 16, GNA – Fire has destroyed property in four communities at Bosomtwe over the past two weeks, Mr Raphael Anane, the District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has said.

He named the communities as Aduaden, Pramso, Behenase and Kuntanasen and items gutted included two houses, a 15-acre palm plantation and personal effects such as clothing, fridges, t television sets, furniture and domestic animals.

Mr Anane said the cause of the fire was yet to be determined and that but for the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), cocoa stocked in a shed at Kuntanase would have been completely burned when the shed caught fire.

He said the fire-fighters stopped the fire from destroying the beans.

Mr Anane told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that NADMO would assist the victims.
