Four Catholic health facilities receive PPEs, medical supplies from Caritas Accra

The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra and its Caritas Office have presented Personal Protective Equipment and medical supplies to four Catholic Health Facilities in the Metropolitan Archdiocese to support the fight against COVID-19.

The facilities are St. Andrew Catholic Hospital, Kordiabe, Battor Catholic Hospital, Battor, St. John of God Hospital, Amrahia and the Immaculate Heart Clinic, Koluedor.

The items included 60 boxes of surgical masks, 200 pieces of face masks, 55 boxes of hand gloves, 120 gallons of sanitizers, 60 gallons of liquid soap, 60 gallons of Dettol / disinfectant, 60 gallons of parazone/ bleach, 6 pieces of veronica buckets, 6 pieces of receptacles and 300 packs of tissues.

The Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, who presented the items on behalf of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, admonished the facilities to make good use of the items during this difficult period of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr. Simeon Kwaku Amuzu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Battor Catholic Hospital, one of the recipient health facilities on behalf of the others, expressed gratitude to Caritas Accra office and all the partners for the generous intervention during these difficult times.

He, however, assured the Archbishop that, the items would be used for the purpose for which they have been given.

He noted that the staff, health workers, patients and their families who would use these medical supplies would continue to pray for all the generous people.

Present at the ceremony on Monday, April 27, 2020, at the residence of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra were Sr. Vivi Nedumattathil, Head of the St. Andrew Catholic Hospital, Kordiabe; and Rev. Fr. Raphael Atta- Donkor, Parish Priest of St. Mary Catholic Church Koluedor, in charge of the Immaculate Heart Clinic, Koluedor.

The others were Very Rev. Fr. Neumann Tetteyfio, the Archdiocesan Financial Administrator; Rev. Fr. George Ekow Mensah, Director of CARITAS ACCRA, and Rev. Fr. Anthony Agnes Adu-Mensah, Secretary to the Catholic Archbishop of Accra.
