GIPS applauds Prof Senyo Acquah on new role as Associate Professor of Procurement at UCC School of Business

The Governing Council of the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply (GIPS) has extended warm congratulations to Prof. Innocent Senyo Kwesi Acquah on his recent promotion to Associate Professor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Business.

This achievement, according to the institute, highlights a career filled with outstanding contributions to advancing knowledge in procurement and supply chain management.

“Prof. Innocent Senyo Kwesi Acquah’s promotion to Associate Professor is a milestone in a career marked by excellence. His contributions to academia, professional practice, and the procurement field continue to inspire and impact young professionals in the field,” a statement issued by the institute, noted.

“As he takes on this new role, the Governing Council of GIPS and the broader community celebrate this remarkable achievement and look forward to his continued contributions to the field,” it added.

His professional journey serves as an inspiration for students and professionals alike, whilst his achievements underscore the importance of continuous learning, professional development, and a commitment to excellence.

“This congratulatory message is a reflection of the high regard in which Prof. Acquah is held; it is also an acknowledgment of his contributions to GIPS and the broader field of procurement and supply chain management,” the statement concluded.

Aside his new rank as an Associate Professor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Prof. Acquah is also the Doctoral Programmes Coordinator at the School of Business, University of Cape Coast as well as the Professional Programmes Accreditations Lead for Procurement and Supply Chain Management programmes and the Coordinator of the CIPS-accredited MSc. & M.com (Procurement and Supply Chain Management) programmes.

He holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the University of KwaZulu Natal, an LLM in Public Procurement Law and Policy from the University of Nottingham, an MSc. in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University, an M.com in Marketing and a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast. He also holds Professional, Advanced, and Foundation Diplomas in Procurement and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), UK.

Prof. Acquah currently chairs the Ghana Branch of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, UK, is a member of the governing council of the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply and is the Chair of the Education and Certification committee of the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply.

He is a Fellow of boththe Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), UK, and the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK.

Prof. Acquah is the winner of several awards, including the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association’s (IPSERA) “Doctoral Bursary” in 2019 and the University of Cape Coast’s “Best College-Level Researcher Award” for the College of Humanities and Legal Studies in 2021.
