GPRTU warns drivers demonstrating against MMT

Accra, May 16, GNA - The National Secretariat of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) on Friday warned its members against demonstrations to protest the operations of the Metro Mass Transport (MMT).

In a statement signed by Alhaji Yaw Manu, National Chairman, in reaction to two of such demonstrations in the Western and Northern regions, GPRTU said the issue of the operation of MMT as it affects its members was being taken up with the authorities and would be resolved soon.

"We therefore advice all GPRTU regional secretariats, branches and locals throughout Ghana to route any grievances with regard to the operations of the MMT in their respective areas for a fair and amicable solution than resorting to demonstrations which, in our view, do no good to (the peace the country is enjoying)," it said.
