The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA)-Ghana will be celebrate the United Nations World Peace Day on September 21, 2024, with a special event honoring outstanding individuals who have contributed to peace and development in Africa.
The Ga Mantse, King Teiko Tackie Tsuru ll, will be specially honored at this event with the Mayor of Peace Award.
"We are honoured to announce that the Ga Mantse has already accepted our invitation to be the special guest of honour and recipient of the Mayor of Peace Award at this year's event. The Ga Mantse is a renowned traditional leader and a symbol of unity and peace in Ghana.
"During the event, IAWPA-Ghana will also present the Africa Peace Advocate Award to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to peace and development in Ghana and Africa through their various outstanding platforms," a statement has said.
It added that these individuals have made significant contributions to promoting peace, understanding, and cooperation in their communities and beyond.
"We look forward to celebrating the United Nations World Peace Day with the Ga Mantse and other peace advocates in Ghana and Africa.
"Let us work together to promote peace, unity, understanding, and development in our communities and beyond especially before, during and after Elections 2024," the statement added.
The event will take place on the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day at the National Theater, Accra.
