Garu-Tempane Assembly rehabilitates two meat shops

Garu(UER), Oct. 04, GNA - Garu-Tempane District Assembly has rehabilitated and expanded two meat shops at Garu and Woriyanga at an estimated cost of 275.5 million cedis. The rehabilitation undertaken with funds from Community-Based Rural Development Project (CBRDP) provided the shops with deep freezers, electricity and ceilings fans.

Inaugurating the shops, Mr Emmanuel Sin-Nyet Asigri Garu-Tempane District Chief Executive, called on butchers to ensure they sold wholesome meat to consumers to prevent diseases. He asked the butchers to operate under hygienic conditions and with the frequent outbreak of anthrax in the area they should consult veterinary officers to examine livestock they slaughter for human consumption.
