Ghanaians must abide by the rule of law

Mim (B/A) June 11, GNA- Mr. Ben Osei Kufuor, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asunafo North has urged Ghanaians to help protect the peace in the country by ensuring that fundamental laws are strictly adhered to. Speaking at the inauguration of Gio-Peace and Viric Assistance Foundation, an NGO, at Mim in the Asunafo District of Brong Ahafo, the MP said peace was necessary for the nation's development. The NGO, which has its headquarters in Tema, is dedicated to the establishment of peace clubs in basic and secondary schools, churches and workplaces.

Mr. Kufuor urged stakeholders in education to remain committed to their roles for the provision of quality education for the youth. Mr. Dapaah Asiakwan, Founder and Executive Director of the NGO, explained that the organization had chosen the path of peace building to help the youth in their sense of patriotism.

School uniforms, bags and stationery would also be provided for school children with funds from an affiliate foreign NGO in China, the Executive Director added.

He urged parents, teachers, and educational authorities, to support the process of building a peaceful society.
