Ghanaians urged to bury differences to sustain democracy

Mampong (Ash), March 7, GNA - Mr Daniel Appau Ohyeamang, Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, has advised Ghanaians and members of the various political parties in particular, to bury their differences to sustain the country's democracy. He said they should also devote their attention and energies to issues tha= t promoted national cohesion. Mr Ohyeamang said this when he addressed more than 3,000 school children and members of the public at the Independence Day celebration at Asante-Mampong on Sunday March 6th.

He said the Day should remind the people of their responsibilities and roles to help to realize the nation's development aspirations. He said all Ghanaians should pride themselves for the significant strides towards democracy and good governance, and added that everyone must work to sustain that.

The MCE appealed to public officials to develop positive attitude to work and to become time conscious. To the students, Mr Ohyeamang asked that they desisted from drugs, alcoholism, occultism and all forms of anti-social behaviors that could wreck their future. He pledged the Government's commitment to pursue pragmatic policies and programmes to galvanize and improve the social and economic situation of th= e people.
