Tamale, May 29, GNA - The Reverend Samuel Oyitey Attu, Chairman of the Northern Sector Presbytery of the Global Evangelical Church on Sunday cut the sod for the construction of a 300-million-cedi chapel for the Church in Tamale.
The chapel with a sitting capacity of 500 would be completed before the end of the year, Reverend Manfred Mawuena Kofi Fiakpui, head pastor said at the sod- cutting ceremony.
Reverend Fiakpui said members of the Tamale presbytery started at the Prison's Canteen with about 45 worshipers but membership had now increased to more than 250 adult worshipers with branches in Bolgatanga, Daboya and Wa.
He advised members to be each other's keeper, exhibit the sense of love and understanding and contribute towards early completion of the facility.
Earlier, Reverend Attu in a sermon called on Christians to contribute their quota towards nation development. He said as Christians they should try to live exemplary lives and should not indulge in any social vices so that the rest of the communities would emulate them
