Goaso(B/A), Aug. 20, GNA - A 42-year old driver, Akwasi Bosomprah has been installed as the new Omanhene of the Goaso traditional council, under the stool name Nana Akwasi Baffour Bosomprah. Nana Bosomprah has since sworn the oath of allegiance to the people at Goaso. The swearing in of the new Omanhene closes a protracted chieftaincy dispute that had raged on in Goaso traditional area, since the year 2000 when the then Omanhene, Krotwiamansa Adjei Ampofo, abdicated the royal stool. The installation of the new Omanhene was through the instrumentality and authority of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who was represented at the colourful ceremony by his chief linguist, Nana Darko Mprah.
Nana Darko stressed that since Goaso was under the authority of the Asanteman Council, it would ensure that peace was restored in the area to enhance accelerated development. He charged the new Omanhene to work to unite the people and the other chiefs under his authority, towards the rapid progress of the area. The chief linguist advised him to attend meetings regularly after swearing the official oath before the Otumfuo, to know more about the cultural demands of the area. Nana Bosomprah promised to be a good servant to the people and would strive to promote peace, harmony and development in the traditional area.
