Gomoa Manso raises fund to stop leaking.

Gomoa Manso, (C/R), July 11, GNA- The Gomoa District Chief Executive, Ms Joyce Aidoo, has advised pupils and students from rural areas not to let where they come from be an impediment to achieving greater heights in education.

Ms Aidoo said with discipline and determination the child from the hamlet could become a great scholar.

She gave the advice at the Open day of Manso D/A Primary and Junior Secondary Schools at Gomoa Manso, near Agona Swedru. It was organised by the school to raise funds for the repair of the building.

Ms Aidoo stressed the importance of discipline and said, "without it nothing can be achieved "God May give you a talent but without discipline you cannot use the talent for your own benefit and that of the society" she stated. Teachers should avoid using pupils in a way, which could adversely affect their life.

Mr Edward Arkoma-Arthur, the Headmaster said the leaking building seriously affected class work when it rained. He said apart from the problem with the building there was no toilet facility for the school, which compelled the pupil to adopt what he called the "free range" to attend nature's call. "We are aware that heaven helps those who help themselves," hence the decision to raise some funds before appealing for help, Mr Ankomah-Arthur said.

The DCE said the District Assembly would re-roof the building and paint it.
