Dr Apetorgbor Dzordzegbe, Medical Superintendent of Swedru Municipal Hospital, said the hospital made improvement in its activities last year, reducing still births from 68 in 2011 to 48 in 2012.
Dr Dzordzegbe said despite the successes chalked, the facility is confronted by some challenges which include inadequate staff and doctors, accommodation for staff, congestion at OPD and reduction in voluntary blood donation.
He appealed to the government and individuals to assist the hospital with theatre operating light, tools and beds, anaesthetic machine and patient trolley.
