Gov't to tackle National Identification Authority challenges

President Mahama will on Tuesday, meet the management of the National Identification Authority to deliberate on the challenges that has bedeviled the exercise.

The meeting will also explore ways of harmonizing the various identification mechanisms currently ongoing in the country.

The National identification exercise which started five years ago has been hindered by administration malpractices.

Addressing the media at the Flagstaff House, Deputy minister of Information and Media Relations, Mutala Mohammed, said it is the intention of the president to immediately harmonize the identifications systems in order to generate an effective data base for the administration of the country.

“We have to also understand that this is not only for the citizens of this country; we also have in the program, registration of foreigners which will be at a fee,” he further explained.

He appealed to the media, in their reportage, to help government successfully carry out the exercise.
