Government will implement programmes to enhance good governance

Asona (E/R), Nov. 16, GNA - The Kwahu West District Chief Executive, Nana Kofi Kese, has said the provision of educational infrastructure, the capitation grant and the National Health Insurance Scheme are part of the government's programmes and policies to improve the living standard of the people.

He said Ghanaians should therefore not to listen to lies being propagated by the opponents of the government and to give it their support to move the nation forward.

Nana Kese was addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of Asona, Awenade and Kwamang as part of his familiarization tour of communities in the District to explain government's programmes and policies. He said the country would have achieved an advance stage of development if the previous governments had ensured effective distribution of the nation's resources.

The DCE urged the youth to form co-operatives to get financial assistance to cultivate food crops and vegetables both for local consumption and export.

He assured the people of an equitable distribution of the district's resources to all communities to enhance the living standard of the people and advised them to take advantage of the capitation grant to send their children to school and to register with the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme.

The communities appealed for the construction and rehabilitation of school blocks, extension of electricity, the drilling of bore holes, provision of places of convenience and the rehabilitation of feeder roads and streets in the area.
