Senya-Beraku, Aug. 27, GNA - The government has awarded all the roads network in Senya-Beraku township on contract, Mr Haruna Esseku, National Chairman of the NPP, who is also a citizen of the town has announced.
Mr Esseku was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the area to climax their annual "Akomasi" festival.
According to Mr Esseku, work on the projects would begin soon. He said, beside Senya township roads, the government has re-awarded the link road between the town and main Akotsi-junction-Accra highway on contract to give it a new face.
Similarly, roads linking Bonsueku-Fettehkese, and Kwaobonshie and Senya Beraku will also be rehabilitated before the end of the year. Mr Esseku advised the various communities within the Senya-Beraku Traditional area to do away with chieftaincy litigation. They must learn to resolve their differences amicably to pave the way for socio-economic advancement at their respective communities.
Mrs Hannah Tetteh-Kpodar, MP for Awutu/Senya, reminded the communities that chieftaincy and land disputes had damaged the progress of individual families, clans and the entire traditional area, and advised them to change for the better.
She said unless they trash out their own problems, nobody would do it for them. "You are the best solution to your problems". Mrs Kpodar appealed to the poverty alleviation disbursement committee in the district not to distribute such funds on party lines because it will destroy the unity, co-operation and the sense of fellow feeling, which the government seek to build for the nation. 27 Aug. 03
