Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Abubakar Ali has been sworn in as the new national president of the Hausa people in Ghana.

His throne title is Tafida Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Abubakar Ali III.

Apart from the swearing-in of the national president, new presidents from across all sixteen regions of Ghana were also sworn in.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, saw many other tribesmen and dignitaries gracing the occasion.

Dr. Mohammed Saeed, the global president of the Hausa tribe, graced the occasion as a special guest.

Amid drumming and dancing, different displays took place to portray the beautiful culture of the Hausa people.

Speaking during the swearing-in, Dr. Mohammed Saeed said efforts to get the Hausa people united were always on course.

He entreated his tribesmen, especially those in Ghana, to always get united and comport themselves in order to ensure peaceful coexistence.

However, one major thing that he expressed worry about is how the Hausa people, especially those in Ghana, are always neglected and discriminated against as though they are not part of the country.

He, therefore, urged his tribesmen to trust and support leadership in their effort to fight against that canker.

Congratulating the newly sworn-in president and the other regional presidents, Dr. Mohammed Saeed entreated them to work hard in unity to ensure there is always peace and harmony.

On his part, the new president, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Abubakar Ali III, expressed joy and thanked his tribesmen for the honour bestowed on him.

On behalf of the other regional presidents, he expressed gratitude to the people and pledged his unflinching efforts to work hard in order to ensure the growth and development of the group.

"This gathering is a testament to the transformative power of unity, which has brought us together across borders, cultures, and generations. Our history in Ghana dates back over 150 years, and we have played a significant role in shaping the fabric of this nation, contributing to its rich tapestry with our language, culture, and traditions," he said.

He also talked about the Hausas' economic contribution to the well-being of the country by revealing that the Hausa people have contributed tremendously in the areas of trade, food, and fashion.

"We have lived in peace and mutual respect with the people of this land, especially the people of Ashanti, who received and treated us like their brothers and sisters," he said.

He further disclosed and assured his people of his outstanding effort to bring development to the Zongo communities and also make sure there is always unity amongst the Hausa people, as it has always been their hallmark.

"Our language, our culture, and our traditions have always been about bringing people together to live in peace and harmony. In my position as president of Hadinkai Hausawan Ghana, I will do exactly that."

"Also, one of my main goals is to bring development to our Zongo communities. Our ancestors worked very hard to establish themselves in this land, and we must also work even harder to sustain what they have left behind, to develop ourselves, and to leave a better legacy for the generations to come. We can do this with the support and participation of every single one of you present here and those who could not make it to this event," he added.
