Koforidua, Feb. 11, GNA- The Hospital Administrator of the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua, Mr Lucio Dery, has called on health workers to improve upon their health delivery efficiency to help raise the life expectancy in the country from 58 years to at least 70 years. He made the call at the opening of a two-day training workshop for five hundred workers of the Eastern Regional Hospital at Koforidua.
The workshop was meant to educate all categories of the hospital's staff on how to improve upon their service delivery to patients to make the facility more patient-friendly and improve upon access to quality health care.
Mr Dery reminded the staff that the provision of friendly services to the clients of the hospital was not only for the good of the patients, but also to encourage patients to have confidence in the hospital, use the facility and to keep them in employment.
Mr. Dery said to enhance the provision of customer-friendly service to its clients, the hospital administration has acquired a Motorola communication equipment with ten hand receivers to be supplied to those who would be on duty for 24-hour service outside the normal working hours so that they could be reached quickly during emergencies.
He said in addition, the hospital has contracted the Ghana Telecom Company to install a telephone hotline to be used solely for emergency clinical services.
