Tsito-Awudome, March 18, GNA - The Ho District Assembly on Wednesday presented 90 pieces of boards and a quantity of roofing sheets valued at 27 million cedis to the Awudome Secondary School at Tsito in the Ho District for the re-roofing of four classroom blocks which were hit by a rainstorm last month.
Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho District Chief Executive (DCE) and Ms Elizabeth Ohene, Minister of State Responsible for Tertiary Education, jointly presented the items to the headmaster of the school, Mr Godshold Bonuedi.
The DCE said the Assembly would help raise the status of the school before it celebrates its 40th anniversary next month. Ms Ohene suggested that trees should be planted to serve as wind breaks and partly blamed the cause of the damage on shoddy roofing. Mr Bonuedi appealed to the authorities to complete the Home Economics block, which had been abandoned about 15 years ago. He said Home Economics was a popular area of study in the school where results had been consistently good.
