Major General Kamal Ishola Yusuf, Chief of Defence Accounts and Budget Officer at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, has reportedly built a surgical theatre for the Ho Technical University (HTU) clinic in the Volta Region, according to graphic.com.gh.

The senior Nigerian military officer, who is also an alumnus of the university, stated that his decision to build the facility was driven by the growing enrolment and needs of the students.

The cost of the facility remains unknown, according to the media outlet.

Speaking on the rationale behind his kind gesture, Maj. Gen. Yusuf stated that Ho Technical University has, over the years, produced outstanding individuals who are now making significant contributions in their respective fields across the world.

He emphasized the importance of giving back to the institution and its students, noting that the university deserves gratitude from its alumni.

“HTU is the foundation of careers and it is only proper we all support this noble institution to attain greater heights in its mission,” he said.

Maj. Gen. Yusuf added that his decision was driven by his belief in giving back to society.

He emphasized the importance of those who have gained knowledge from various tertiary institutions to serve humanitarian purposes.

He also urged other HTU alumni to give back to the school, network on common platforms, and commit resources towards the institution's development.
