Hot Trail Company donates kits to Netball team

Accra, May 26, GNA - The National Women's Netball team received a major boost ahead of the Netball Africa Cup of Nations following a donation of assorted kits made on Thursday by Hot Trail Sourcing Company Limited. The kits valued at 5600 Ghana Cedis included 14 track suits, 14 jerseys and T-shirts.

The gesture, unprecedented in the annals of netball in the country, is geared towards motivating the team for the continental championship to be staged in Ghana from 10-16 July 2011.

Nana Michael Dzikunu, Head of Marketing and Promotions of Hot Trail Company, said the presentation was to urge the Golden Maidens on for the ultimate at the African championships.

He said his outfit, distributors of Frosty Jack Cider and other beverages, are looking forward to a fruitful marriage with the Netball Association of Ghana to aid in the promotion of the sport.

Nana Dzikunu pledged future support in cash in case the team triumphs at the championships.

Reverend Emmanuel Nikoi, President of the Netball Association of Ghana commended the beverage distributors for their kind gesture, which he describes as the first ever since the recognition of the sport by the now National Sports Authority (NSA) in 1990.

He lauded Hot Trail Sourcing Company Limited for the initiative and appealed to other corporate bodies to follow suit in the quest to popularize netball in the country.

Madam Alice Attipoe, Chief Administrative Officer of the NSA also commended the beverage distributors whilst assuring her of her outfits support to the development and promotion of netball in the country.
