The District Chief Executive (DCE) Madam Veronica Alele Heming is again up in arms with New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency of the Northern Region as they are accusing her of victimizing them and bragging of how untouchable she is.
According to a petition sent to the Presidency for her removal sighted by MyNnewsGh.com, the DCE among other accusations is said to have openly bragged about how she has close ties with the family of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo especially, Gabby Asare-Otchere Darko for which reason she cannot be easily removed from office.
“She said she has the president’s family on her side especially Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko nephew of H.E the President of the Republic of Ghana and no one can move her from her position”, portions of the four-page petition read.
A section of the executives who are not enthused with the leadership style of the DCE say she is gradually making the party very unpopular in the area and victimizing leading members especially women leaders who hitherto her arrival were playing key roles in party organization.
Hajia Zenabu a government appointee to the Assembly and polling station executive revealed to MyNewsGh.com that she has not known peace ever since the DCE came into office because she was asked to cut ties with executives who are not on her side but refused.
“She is using various ways to victimize me and make life very unbearable for me. When I asked my superiors why certain decisions were taken against me, they simply told me it was above them but I was hinted the DCE is the main brain behind all these”, she stated corroborating concerns of her colleagues.
According to the petition “the action of the District Chief Executive in Bole-Bamboi is a great threat to the party’s chances in the constituency come 2020”.
“Also Madam Veronica Alele Heming has refused to attend all five(5) meetings organized by the party constituency executives even though invitations invitation were extended to her and she has vowed never to attend any of such party meetings because she is not in a class of the entire executive committee”.
The party executives who are worried about the conduct of the DCE, also accuse her of awarding school feeding contracts to herself and depriving those who toiled over the years to bring the party to its present state in the area.
They have vowed to leave the party for her which may spell its doom if she is not called to order in view of her conduct which they say is detrimental to the NPP’s fortunes in 2020.
Attempts to speak with the DCE, Madam Veronica Alele Heming proved futile as she refused to respond to calls as well as text messages.
