An opinion leader and secretary to the Ave Council of Chiefs, Mr Mc-Solo Dziwornu Ziddah, has indicated that he would not fault the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North District, Mr. James Gunu, for the slow pace of development of the district because he is an alien to the area.
Mr Mc-Solo Ziddah was of the view that if the DCE had come from the area, he would have known better the pressing needs of the people and tried to provide them.
“Although the District has an alien DCE, who is an Anlo man and who may not care so much about the convenience of we the Akatsi North people, what of the indigenous personalities who assist him? Do those indigenous personalities of our area want to tell us that they have no consideration for their own people in terms of development? This is naked wickedness which we must not accepted”, he said.
According to Mr. Ziddah, he has no personal grudge with the DCE and that, “If not for politics, people like that man (referring to the DCE) should not have been our DCE. He was just brought from somewhere by some powers within the NDC party to be the DCE here and I don’t fault him so much for the problems that we are facing as a people. He would go to a village, look onto the faces of the people seated and give them promises he will not honour. In fact, we need a change in leadership if our district should develop”.
The Ave Chiefs’ secretary was recently reported to have accused the DCE and some NDC executives of hoarding some streetlights to be fixed in the run-up to this general elections ostensibly for buying votes which the DCE has also denied.
He said you could call him on 0244-506-823 for further details of his concerns.
