Improve on your service delivery

26TH Sep 2014 A four (4) Member delegation from the MTN Ghana, a leading Telecommunication giant in the Country, with approximately 13.8 Million subscribers, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC), in Tamale.

The delegation was led by a Senior Manager in Charge of the Regulatory, Ms Eleanor Sarpong, and the Commercial Manager, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, followed by the Area Sales Manager, Mr. Samuel Gyimah and the Northern Regional Manager, Mr Paul Anim.

Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini bemoaned that the three Northern regions are the least in terms of MTN, Coverage accessibility, stressing that this has a ripple effect on the socio-economic development of those excluded segments of the society.

The Deputy Regional Minister, further barked his claims with the assertion that some part of Tamale Metropolis, still don’t have access to MTN coverage and others with intermittent networks outages and even in most cases, when the call goes through, there is still a blurring of audio voices from the other end, which needed to be tackled head-on.

He observed that competition is very key in this regard, because it allows institutions to keep on increasing on their service delivery.

The Deputy Regional Minister, who also doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the sangnarigu Constituency in Tamale, said in spite all these challenges MTN Ghana still stands tall among their competitors.

Alhaji, A.B.A. Fuseni, used the rare privilege to commend the MTN Ghana for consolidating their leading role in the telecommunication industry in Ghana.

On her part Ms. Eleanor Sarpong, intimated that her outfit has spent over 1.7billion so far, as their investments portfolio Nationwide, that would boost their Service operations for their cherish clientele base.

She said as part of their corporate Social responsibility, Northern Region alone has received a fair share of GH, 1.2 Million Cedis, in the area of Education, Health infrastructural projects and other social empowerment support programs for the youth.

Ms. Sarpong remarked that one of the daunting challenges facing MTN Ghana was the menace of cable thefts and the cable cuts by the road construction firms and the open thievery by some unscrupulous people drawing their fuels from their generators, in communities, stressing that these would undoubtedly affect on their operations.

She emphasized that effort are being made to nip the issue in the bud, adding that MTN Ghana is rolling out innovative packages that would excite their customers.

Earlier, in his welcoming remarks, the Regional Economic Planning Officer (REPO), Alhaji Abdul karim Adam , who was part of the discussion opined that NRCC, was fully aware of the laudable initiatives MTN Ghana was undertaking in the region but was quick to add that more needed to be done to enhanced upon their performance.

Present at the function were some senior Staff of the NRCC and their MTN delegation.
